Bonnie Lou (Yockey) Dotson, 65, of Central City, died Friday, February 10, 2006, at St. Luke?s Hospital, following a lengthy illness. Services: 11 a.m. Thursday, February 16, 2006, at First United Methodist Church in Central City by Rev. Nick Needham. Visitation will be from 4-7 p.m. Wednesday at Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Service in Central City. Graveside Committal: 2:30 p.m. Thursday at Rowley Cemetery.

Survivors include her husband, Greg; her daughter, Lisa Lou (Douglas) Browne of Worthington, Ohio; three step-children, Meinah (Travis) Ericson of Ft. Sill, Oklahoma, Peggy Yockey of Lodi, California and Bob (Sandra) Chanapan of Tuscon, Arizona; two grandchildren, Phillip Harold Brandt and Madeline Joan Browne; and three step-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; a step-daughter, Deb Yockey; a step-granddaughter, Alanna Ericson; and a brother, Donald Norton.

Bonnie was born March 26, 1940, the daughter of Harold E. and Bessie M. (Patterson) Norton in Independence. She graduated from Central City High School. Bonnie earned her BS from Coe College and her MA from the University of Iowa. She married Everett Yockey, he passed on. Bonnie later married Gregory Allan Dotson on November 2, 1996. She taught at Central City High School from 1965 - 1987 and also taught at Hamilton College in Cedar Rapids. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Central City.
