Blanche E. Shaw

Blanche E. Shaw, 84, of 54 Oklahoma Avenue SW, died Saturday, March 29, 2003, in her home, following complications of a stroke. Services: 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, April 1, 2003, at Murdoch-Linwood Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Cedar Rapids, where friends may call from 10:00 a.m. until service time on Tuesday. Rev. Rick Gail will officiate. Burial: Linwood Cemetery, Cedar Rapids.
Survivors include her children, Betty and Chuck Osborne of Blue Grass, Iowa, Shirley and Sam Shannon of Ely, Iowa, and Kenneth "Rick? and Connie Shaw of Grand Junction, Colorado; eight grandchildren; twelve great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; a sister, Hazel Lorenzini of Spring Valley, Illinois; and her special dog, Molly.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Kenneth; three brothers; and four sisters.
Blanche was born March 10, 1919, the daughter of Arthur and Mary Martin DeSpain, in Depue, Illinois. On January 27, 1937, she was united in marriage to Kenneth Shaw, in Superior, Wisconsin. He died July 3, 2002. Blanche was a loving homemaker, mother and grandmother and will be dearly missed by her family and friends.
A memorial fund has been established in memory of Blanche.
