Betty Jean Ross

Betty Jean (Lochner) Ross, 91, of Marion, passed away Thursday, February 4, 2016 at Willow Gardens Care Center in Marion. Visitation: 5 – 7 p.m. Friday, February 12, 2016 at Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Marion. Funeral Service: 10:30 a.m. Saturday, February 13, 2016 at the funeral home with visitation one hour prior to service. Burial: Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery, Cedar Rapids.
Survivors include her husband, Frank; her children, Bill (Linda) Ross of Whittier, Judy Hutchins of Marion, and Bob (Nurdan) Ross of Las Vegas, NV; eight grandchildren; thirteen great-grandchildren; and three great-great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers and one sister.
Betty was born October 16, 1924 to Edward and Blanch (Tudeen) Lochner in Marion, Iowa. After graduating high school, she went to beauty school and became a cosmetologist. She married Frank Ross on November 7, 1942 and started her own hair salon called Ross’s Beauty Shop in Marion. Betty retired from her salon in 1969. She was a past member of Order Eastern Star #183.
