Betty Railsback, 79, of 2825 Schultz Dr. N.W., Cedar Rapids, died Tuesday, April 27, 2004, at St. Luke?s Medical Center, following a courageous battle with cancer. Services: 2:00 p.m., Friday, April 30, 2004, at Murdoch-Linwood Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Cedar Rapids. Friends may call from 4-8 p.m., Thursday, April 29, 2004, at the funeral home. Burial: Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery, Cedar Rapids.
Survivors include her daughters, June Bilyeu and husband Alan Bilyeu, M.D. of Decatur, Illinois and Jane Mason of Cedar Rapids; her grandchildren, Thomas Mason of Cedar Rapids, Terra Hickey, D.D.S. and husband Shane of Center Point, Todd Klotzbach of Cedar Rapids, Alison Bilyeu, M.D. and fiancé Benjamin Coleman, M.D. of Rockford, Illinois and Scott Bilyeu and wife Tabitha of Champaign, Illinois; a great-grandson, Chase Hickey; a brother, John "Louie? Hansen and wife Madonna; and numerous nieces, nephews and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas; her parents; her sisters, Thelma Emmert and Barbara Jean Friis; and her mother-in-law, Hazel Greenwood.
Betty was born May 10, 1924, the daughter of John William and Hazel (Finch) Hansen, in Clinton, Iowa. She married Thomas J. Railsback on February 26, 1944. He passed away on November 9, 1991. Betty worked in production at Collins Radio for 30 years before retiring. She was a long time member of the Bunco Babe?s Club, and was a devoted St. Louis Cardinals fan. Her hobby was sending birthday cards to all her family and friends. Betty was a loving mom, grandma, great-grandma and friend and will be greatly missed.
