Betty Scheetz-Morris, 71, of 2628 TrailRidge Dr. NW, Swisher, Iowa, died Tuesday, October 9, 2007, at the Dennis & Donna Oldorf Hospice House of Mercy, Hiawatha, Iowa, following a short illness. The family will greet friends from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday, October 11, 2007, at Murdoch-Linwood Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Cedar Rapids and also from 10:00 to 11:00 Friday at the church. Funeral Service: 11:00 a.m. Friday, October 12, 2007, at the Shueyville United Methodist Church, by the Rev. Tom Carver. Burial: Anderson Cemetery, Swisher.
Survivors include her husband, Kim; two daughters, Debra (Clay Crosby) Bream of Winterset, Iowa and Dede (Dave) Ollendick of Hills, Iowa; two sons, Michael (Joe Reuter) Scheetz of Des Moines, Iowa, and Patrick (Julie Giesseman) Scheetz of Cedar Rapids; two stepdaughters, Jennifer Hare Le of Mesa, Arizona and Jenna Morris of Swisher, Iowa; a son-in-law, Marvin Heisdorffer of Sigourney, Iowa; seven grandchildren, Bryan Bream, Stephanie (Pete) Heisdorffer-Mesch, Joshua Ollendick, Andrea Ollendick, Chloe Hare Le, Zoe Hare Le and Ysauro Reuter; two great-grandchildren, Chase and Ethan Mesch; and her former husband, Paul (Lynnette) Scheetz of Cedar Rapids.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a daughter, Donna Heisdorffer; and a great-granddaughter, Destiny Love Donna Heisdorffer.
Betty was born March 8, 1936, the daughter of Clarence and Marie (Amish) Brant, in Iowa City, Iowa. She married Paul Scheetz in July of 1955 and they later divorced. On April 17, 1987, Betty married Kim Morris in Cedar Rapids. She worked for several prominent doctors in the Cedar Rapids area before opening her own business. In 1990, Betty opened Fittings Unlimited and acquired The Nurses Station in 2000.
She was a member of the Essentially Women’s Buying Group. Betty enjoyed traveling for pleasure and business, especially her yearly trips to Cancun. She also enjoyed gardening, tending her flowers, relaxing around the pool with her family and friends, and most of all she loved spending time with her grandchildren. Betty touched many lives through her work where she was dedicated to helping her clients back to a better life.
