Betty J. Lestina, 75, of 5638 Dix Rd, Coggon, died Wednesday, May 14, 2003, at Mercy Medical Center, Cedar Rapids, following a long illness. Services: 10:30 a.m. Monday, May 19, 2003, at the Troy Mills Christian Church, Troy Mills, where friends may call from 9 a.m. to service time. Rev. Les Larson will officiate. Arrangements by Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Walker. Burial: Troy Mills Cemetery, Troy Mills.
Survivors include friends, Arlene Zabokrtsky and Ardy Cherry; and her pet dog, Dolly.
Betty was born July 31, 1927, in Alabama. She married James J. Lestina in 1977. He died October 24, 1993. Betty cleaned houses and offices for many. She was an avid bowler and loved the beauty of nature. Betty enjoyed working word puzzles and playing Yahtzee. She was a member of the Troy Mills Christian Church and will be remembered as a caring and generous person.
