Betty I. Gray, 89 of Delaware, died, Wednesday, January 4, 2012 in St. Luke's Hospital, Cedar Rapids.
Funeral Services: 10:30 a.m., Saturday, January 7, 2012 at the United Parish Church in Earlville, IA by Pastor Jill Mack.
Visitation: 3:00 - 8:00 p.m., Friday, January 6, 2012 at the Clifton Murdoch Funeral Home in Earlville, IA. Additional visitation: one hour before services, Saturday, at the church.
Burial: Pineview Cemetery, Delaware, IA.
Betty was born October 16, 1922 in Delhi, the daughter of Charles and Opal (Hansel) Downs. She married Raymond E. Gray on February 22, 1940. He passed away on April 14, 1970.
Betty is survived by her children: Roger Gray of Delaware, Eilene (Dave) Carty of Earlville, Yvonne (Doug) Helmrichs of Manchester, Darlene Fjelstul of Hopkinton, Marlene (Dale) Jaeger of Hopkinton; a daughter in-law, Karen Gray of Delhi; 16 grandchildren, 27 great-grandchildren, 6 great-great-grandchildren and one on the way; siblings: Cecil (Donna) Downs, Donna (Verle) Hankins, Shirley (Earl) Lighting, and Kenny Downs.
Betty was preceded in death by her husband Raymond, her parents, Charles and Opal Downs; a son, Ronnie on February 27, 2011; siblings, Don Downs, Dorothy Reiger, and Bernard Downs.
