Bethel P. Wright Keith, 88, of Center Point, died Thursday, September 11, 2003, in Mercy Medical Center, Cedar Rapids, following an extended illness. Services: 2:00 p.m. Monday, September 15, 2003, at the First Christian Church, Center Point, by the Rev. John Caughron. Friends may call from 5 to 7 p.m. Sunday, September 21, 2003, at Murdoch Funeral Home, Center Point. Burial: Center Point Cemetery.
Survivors include her sons, DeWayne and Kathleen Wright of Tuscon, Arizona, four grandchildren and five great-grandchildren, Larry and Jean Wright of Center Point, Iowa, four grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren, and Willard and Roxane Wright of Center Point, two grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; two husbands, Wayne Wright and Elbridge Keith; five brothers and sisters; and a great-granddaughter, Tiffany Wright of Longmont, Colorado.
Bethel was born May 28, 1915, the daughter of Eugene and Mameye Hall Bailey, in Center Point, Iowa. On March 3, 1937, she was united in marriage to Wayne Wright. He died December 11, 1983. Bethel then married Elbridge Keith on March 20, 1986. He died August 16, 1993. She worked in the office for Vigortone Feeds in Cedar Rapids and was a member of the First Christian Church in Center Point. In her spare time, Bethel loved to read.
