Berniece G. McGinn, 91, longtime resident of Ryan, IA died Tuesday, December 25, 2012 at the Good Neighbor Home in Manchester
Funeral Mass will be at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, December 29, 2012 at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Ryan, by Rev. Dennis Cain. Visitation will be prior to services from 8:30 a.m. – 11:00 a.m. Saturday at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church. Burial will be the Calvary Cemetery, Ryan, IA.
Berniece was born in Delaware County, August 19, 1921, the daughter of Maurice and Florence (Robinson) Duggan. She attended St. Patrick’s School in Ryan, graduating in 1939. On June 2, 1942, Berniece was united in marriage to Hubert T. McGinn. Berniece worked as a bookkeeper for AMPI for many years.
Bernice had a very strong faith, giving of herself to her family and others. She was a great cook and enjoyed the simple life.
Berniece is survived by two children; Marge Monaghan of Arizona and Mike McGinn of Manchester; a daughter-in-law, Janice McGinn; a son-in-law, Jim Monaghan; and one sister, Kathleen Halford; five grandchildren, Michele (Tim) Brick, Patrick (Carrie) Monaghan, Corene (Chris) Walker, Terry (Kim) McGinn, and Tracey McGinn; seven great-grandchildren, Shea Walker, Camryn Walker, Brighton Brick, Karley Monaghan, Abigail Monaghan, Lily Monaghan, and Patrick McGinn
Berniece was preceded in death by her husband, Hubert in 1979; her parents, a son, Patrick McGinn; 2 brothers, Louis Duggan and Donald Duggan; and two brothers in infancy, Charles and Richard Duggan.
