Bernice Steenbergen
August 12, 1942 — October 29, 2002
Bernice Steenbergen, 60, formerly of Linnhaven, died Tuesday, October 29, 2002, at her sisters home, following a long illness. Services: 10 a.m. Saturday, November 2, 2002, at Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Center in Marion by Rev. Nick Longworth. Friends may call from 4-8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. Burial: Oak Shade Cemetery in Marion.
Survivors include her sisters, Winnie Warren of Marion, Juanita Pretz and husband Daryl of Rochelle, Illinois and Glenice Goyette and friend Doug Schinker of Cedar Rapids; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers, Wayne and Bobbie.
Bernice was born August 12, 1942, the daughter of Robert and Ella (Eaton) Steenbergen, in Waterloo. She worked for Goodwill Industries for many years and was also employed at the Collins Plaza. Bernice enjoyed going to nursing homes and singing to the elderly with a church choir. She was an avid bowler and loved traveling.
A memorial fund has been established in memory of Bernice.
