Bernice L. Schlueter, 94, of Ryan, Iowa, passed away Wednesday, February 6, 2019, at the Good Neighbor Home, Manchester. Visitation: 9:00 – 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, February 13, 2019, at St. Patrick Catholic Church, Ryan, with Funeral Mass to follow at 11:00 a.m. conducted by Rev. Gabriel Anderson. Burial: Calvary Cemetery, Ryan. Arrangements by Bohnenkamp – Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Manchester.
Bernice was born April 12, 1924, in Guttenberg, Iowa, the daughter of Henry and Eleonora (Miller) Schlueter. Bernice was a nanny and caregiver to many throughout her life. She was a faithful parishioner at St. Patrick Catholic Church, a member of the St. Anne’s Study Club for 50 years, and taught catechism. Bernice enjoyed gardening and canning, and time spent with family and friends.
Bernice is survived by a sister, Marian McGrane of Manchester, brothers, Francis (Theresa) Schlueter of Ankeny, and Marcus (Joyce) Schlueter of Ryan; a sister-in-law, Phyllis Schlueter of Masonville; and many nieces and nephews.
Bernice was preceded in death by her parents; and brothers, Gerald, Jerome and Viryl Schlueter.
