Bernice B. Moore, 90, of Cedar Rapids, died Saturday, September 1, 2012, at Mercy Medical Center, Cedar Rapids. Services: 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, September 5, 2012, at Murdoch-Linwood Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Cedar Rapids, by Rev. John Caughron. Family will greet friends from 4 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, September 4, at the funeral home. Burial: Linwood Cemetery, Cedar Rapids.
Survivors include her children, Steven (Kris) Moore, Patty (John) McMillen and Karen (David) Plotz, all of Cedar Rapids; five grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren; and three sisters, Geraldine Lanning of Center Point, Emily Hines of Urbana and Thelma Jean Tatro of Clinton.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Henry; two brothers, Stanley and Rudolph Butters; two sisters, Dorothy First and Maxine Moore; half-brother, Ross Butters; and half-sisters, Grace Wolfe and Edna Pierce.
Bernice was born December 5, 1921, the daughter of Harlin and Emily (Ronek) Butters, in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. She was united in marriage to Henry Moore in Marion, Iowa. He died May 5, 1986. Bernice was a member of First Christian Church in Center Point.
