Bernetta Jessie Mae Hines, 90, of Center Point, Iowa, died December 15, 2002, in Crestview Acres Care Center, Marion, of a short illness. Services: 10:30 a.m., Wednesday, December 18, 2002, at Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Center Point, Iowa, by Rev. Larry Daubs. Burial: Hillcrest Cemetery, Volga, Iowa. Friends may call from 4-8 Tuesday, December 17, 2002, at the funeral home.
Survivors include two sons, Carrol (Dorothy) Hines, Center Point, Lavern (Donna) Hines, Palo; one brother, Oscar Lamphier of Arlington; nine grandchildren, thirteen great grandchildren and one great-great grandchild.
She was preceded in death by her husband; her parents; a sister, Anna Hines; and three brothers, Willis Lamphier, Arnold Lamphier, and Merlin Lamphier.
Born July 18, 1912, in Clayton County to Morris and Jessie (Kerr) Lamphier, she married Delbert Lewis Hines on May 1, 1929, in Elkader. He died May 23, 1997. Bernetta was a member of the Victory Baptist Church, Center Point, Iowa.
