Barbara “Ilene” Schaldecker, 77, of 1436 Hollywood Blvd. NE, Cedar Rapids, died Friday, January 16, 2009, at Mercy Medical Center in Cedar Rapids, following a short illness. Services: 1:00 p.m., Tuesday, January 20, 2009, at Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Center, Marion, by Pastor Larry Janda.
Survivors include her husband, Robert; her children, Annette (Roger) Schaffner of Millersburg, Iowa, and Mike (Debbi) Schaldecker of Cedar Rapids; 4 grandchildren, Jason Schaldecker, Kelli Jo Schaldecker, Caleb (Jessie) Schaffner, and Jacob Schaffner; and 1 great-grandchild, Jason Michael Schaldecker.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Ilene was born May 8, 1931, the daughter of Murl and Eva (Baker) Spray, in McCool, Nebraska. She married Robert T. Schaldecker on February 2, 1952 in Lushton, Nebraska.
