Barbara J. Rick, 53, of 1345 Terrace St., died Saturday, March 10, 2007, at St. Luke?s Hospital in Cedar Rapids, following a short illness. Graveside Service: 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, March 13, 2007, at Urbana Cemetery by Rev. Del Bear. Per Barbara?s wishes, there will be no visitation. Arrangements by Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Center in Marion.
Survivors include her husband of twenty-nine years, Gary; her son, Chris Rick of Cedar Rapids; her daughter Holley Rick of Marion; three sisters, Peggy Munsell Poole of Charlotte, North Carolina, Rosemary Primus of Urbana, and Evalina Sieck of Center Point; two brothers, Melvin Phillips and Mark Phillips, both of Urbana; and three granddaughters, Skylir, Kristin, and Katrena Rick.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Bill Phillips; and her maternal grandmother, Grace VanFossen.
Barbara was born August 7, 1953, the daughter of Donald and Bessie (VanFossen) Phillips in Urbana. She graduated from Urbana High School in 1971. On April 2, 1977, she married Gary Rick at Urbana Christian Church. Barbara worked at Dollar Tree in Cedar Rapids.
