Barbara A. Pizel, 63, of 5630 Colorado Drive, S.W., Cedar Rapids, Iowa, died Thursday, April 23, 2009, in Mercy Medical Center, Cedar Rapids, following a long illness. Services: 10:30 a.m., Tuesday, April 28, 2009, at Murdoch-Linwood Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Cedar Rapids, by Father Mark Osterhaus. Visitation hours 2 to 6 p.m., Sunday, April 26, 2009, at the funeral home. Burial: Linwood Cemetery, Cedar Rapids.
Survivors include her husband, Robert, Sr.; son, Robert, Jr. and spouse Margaret Pizel, of Cedar Rapids; daughter, Kelli and spouse Scott Burnett of Cedar Rapids; grandchildren, Brandon, Emily and Justin; and brother, Richard Lentner and spouse Suzanne.
Barbara was preceded in death by her parents; and sister, Donna Lewis.
Born January 27, 1946, in Manchester, Iowa, Barbara was the daughter of Edward and Della (Hutchinson) Lentner. On April 4, 1964, she was united in marriage to Robert Pizel, Sr. in St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church in Cedar Rapids.
Barbara loved spending time with her grandchildren and family. Other joys were going to the casino, bingo, playing cards and going to garage sales.
A memorial fund has been established.
