Barbara A. Oliver, 66, of 4420 Bowling Street SW, Cedar Rapids, died Tuesday, June 8, 2004, at St. Luke?s Hospital, following a long illness. Services: 10:00 a.m., Saturday, June 12, 2004, at Murdoch-Linwood Funeral Home, by Chaplain Kay Mineck. Friends may call from 6-8 p.m., Friday, June 11, 2004, at the funeral home. Burial: Linwood Cemetery, Cedar Rapids.
She is survived by her children, Carl (Sherri) Olson of Solon, Mike (Becky) Olson of Olathe, Kansas, Mark (Dee) Olson of Solon and Carey (Beth) Olson of Des Moines; her step-children, Kelli (Pat) Richards of Cedar Rapids, Kevin Oliver of Marion and Kimberly (Mike) Wiggins of Center Point; seventeen grandchildren; and her sisters Maxine (Roland) Langkabel of Silverton, Oregon, Roxie (Bill) Kober, of Jefferson, Wisconsin and Jackie (Norm) Metz of Sheboygan, Wisconsin.
She was preceded in death by three husbands, Mitchell Olson, Leslie "Pep? Stumpff and Kenneth "Ollie? Paul Oliver and her parents.
Barbara was born April 25, 1938, in Reedsburg, Wisconsin, the daughter of Fred and Lucille (Stickler) Strutz. Barbara first came to Cedar Rapids and worked at Arthur Murray Dance Studio. She also worked at Collins Radio, drove a school bus, was a CNA, a hotel manager, worked at Hy-Vee and most recently was a cashier at the Creative Hosts Restaurant at the Cedar Rapids Airport.
She loved her children, loved to travel, read, her dog PV, and had a great sense of humor.
Memorials may be made to the charity of choice in memory of Barbara.
