Barbara E. Johnson (Brown)
December 2, 1933 — December 19, 2007
Barbara E. Johnson, 74, of 3002 Stone Creek Court, died Wednesday, December 19, 2007, at St. Luke’s Hospital, following a brief illness. Services: 1:00 p.m. Sunday, December 23, 2007, at Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Center in Marion by Rev. Nick Longworth. Visitation will take place immediately following the funeral until 4:00 p.m. Private family burial will take place at Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery in Cedar Rapids.
Survivors include her husband, Richard E. “Dick” Johnson of Marion; a son, Mike (Cindy) Johnson of Marion; a daughter, Laurie (Mark) Moeller of Marion; four sisters, Beverly (Duke) Loveless of Marion, Sandy Hamilton of Cedar Rapids, Phyllis (Ray) King of Tennessee, and Carol (Darrel) Vrchoticky of Connecticut; three grandsons, Ryan, Kyle, and Doug; three granddaughters, Andrea, Allison, and Jenny; and two great-granddaughters, Keira and Addison.
She was preceded in death by her parents and an infant daughter, Susan Lynne.
Barbara was born December 2, 1933, the daughter of Herbert and Jenny (Carter) Brown in Rochester, Indiana. On June 11, 1954, she married Richard Johnson in Cedar Rapids.
Barbara was an avid golfer and excellent cook. She touched many lives in many different ways. She was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother and will be missed by all who knew and loved her.
A memorial fund has been established in Barbara’s memory.
