Barbara Jean Caraway, 87, a resident at Willow Gardens Care Center, Marion, died there, Thursday, November 21, 2013. Funeral Service: 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, November 26, 2013, at Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Center, Marion, by Pastor Michael Kleeberger. The family will greet friends from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. prior to the service at the funeral home. Burial: Oak Shade Cemetery.
Survivors include her husband, Larry; her children, Chuck (Rose) Fadness, and Diane Erb; numerous grandchildren; her siblings, Dorothy and Harold; and a sister-in-law, Betty.
Barbara was born March 31, 1926, in Marion, Iowa, the daughter of Herbert and Gladys Hayes. She was a graduate of Marion High School. On November 17, 1975, she married Larry Caraway at the First United Methodist Church in Marion. Barbara worked at St. Luke’s Hospital in the cafeteria. She was a member of the Squaw Creek Baptist Church in Marion.
