Reva B. Hoffman, 89, a resident of Northbrook Manor, died there, Wednesday, January 20, 2010, following a long illness. Services: 10:30 a.m. Saturday, January 23, 2010, at Murdoch Funeral Home and Cremation Center, Marion, by Rev. Mark Pries of Zion Lutheran Church, Iowa City. The family will greet friends 4-6 p.m. Friday, January 22, 2010, at the funeral home. Burial: Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery, Cedar Rapids.

Reva is survived by her son, Donovan (Betty) Hoffman, of Springville, IA; two daughters, Cherie Lough of Mesa, AZ and Donna (Allen) Grundstad of Iowa City; and her brother Donald Heald of Marion, IA. She has nine grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

Reva was preceded in death by her husband; parents; son, Charles; brother, Dale; and sister, Bessie.

Reva was born November 9, 1920, in Whittier, IA, to Barclay W. and Edith (Shunk) Heald. She graduated from Springville High School and Cedar Rapids Business College, and worked at Hiltbrunner Music Co. in Cedar Rapids. She married Lester Hoffman on April 20, 1941, and together they owned and operated a grocery store, locker plant, and post office in Whittier. During their retirement they spent several winters in Rockport, Texas. Reva lived in Iowa City for a number of years before moving to Northbrook Manor in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. She was a member of Zion Lutheran Church of Iowa City.
