Augusta Abigail “Abbie” Pike, died Wednesday, March 21st, 2012 at Dennis & Donna Oldorf Hospice House of Mercy in Hiawatha. Services: 10:30 a.m. Friday, March 23, 2012 at Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Center in Marion. The family will greet friends from 4:00-7:00 p.m. Thursday, March 22, 2012 at the funeral home in Marion. Graveside Service: 11:30 a.m. Saturday, March 24, 2012 at Coggon Cemetery, Coggon, IA.
Survivors include three sisters, Ruby Goodall, Betty Clifton, and Mary LaBarge and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Floyd, her son, Michael Pike; four brothers, Howard, Phillip, Jesse and Scott Hawley; and four sisters, Ruth Goodall, Odessa Levasseur, Ellen Miller, and Grace Long.
Abbie was born January 1, 1927 in Lisbon, IA the daughter of George and Esther (Coay) Hawley. On September 28, 1958 she was united in marriage to Floyd Pike. Abbie was a bookkeeper for her family’s business for thirty years. She enjoyed bowling, softball and baseball. Abbie was easy going with a great sense of humor.
