Ashley Erin Bersing

Ashley Erin Bersing, 39, of Marion, Iowa, passed away on Tuesday, February 13, 2024, at St. Luke’s Hospital in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. The family will greet friends from 1 - 2 p.m. on Friday, February 23, 2024, at Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Service in Marion, where a Celebration of Life will follow at 2 p.m. Certified Celebrant, Amy Hart, will officiate.
Ashley was born on April 3, 1984, in Chicago, Illinois, the daughter of Gregory and Kimberly (Fecht) Johnson. She was a 2002 graduate of East Lyme (CT) High School and went on to attend Kaplan University in Cedar Rapids, earning her nursing degree. On May 8, 2010, Ashley was united in marriage to Sean Bersing in Westbrook, Connecticut. They later divorced but remained close friends and coparents. At the time of her death, Ashley was working as a nurse at the Iowa Medical Classification Center in Coralville, Iowa. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.
Ashley is survived and lovingly remembered by her four children, Gavin and Sky Monty, and Logan and Oliver Bersing, all of Marion; former husband and beloved friend, Sean Bersing of Marion; mother, Kim Johnson of Cedar Rapids; father, Greg Johnson of Cedar Rapids; maternal grandmother, Sharon Peters of Cedar Rapids; and many aunts, uncles, and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her maternal grandfather; paternal grandparents; and uncle, Scott Fecht.
