Arthur John Milbach, 91, of Marion, died at Northbrook Manor Care Center in Cedar Rapids, Friday, July 28, 2006. Funeral Mass: 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, August 1, 2006, at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Marion by Father John Gossman. Visitation will be from 4-7 p.m. Monday at Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Center in Marion where a vigil service will begin at 6:30 p.m. Burial: Mt. Calvary Cemetery, Cedar Rapids.
Survivors include his children, JoAnn Milbach of Marion, Jeannine Milbach of Delhi, Larry (Joan) Milbach of Marion, Bev (John) Connon of Morris, Illinois, Phyllis Rooks of Richmond, Virginia, Sue Milbach of Richmond, Virginia, Marsha (Jeff) Coady of Atlantic, Steve Milbach of Marion, Robert (Ellen) Milbach of Coggon, Margaret (Craig) Sears of Cedar Rapids, Dave (Linda) Milbach of Marion, Tom Milbach of Florida and Jeff (Sue) Milbach of Marion; eighteen grandchildren; and one great-grandson.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Mary; a daughter, Donna Milbach; a sister, Martha Michael; and a brother, Charles Milbach.
Arthur was born November 27, 1914, in rural Walker, the son of Hubert and Elizabeth (Wahl) Milbach. On June 11, 1947, he married Mary Elizabeth Michels in Hazelton. She died July 9, 2003. He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Marion. Arthur spent his early years farming near Walker. In 1955 he moved to Marion and worked for Iowa Manufacturing for eleven years. For thirty-six years he drove for Marion Cab which was later known as Art?s Taxi.
Arthur loved fishing, puzzles, and cards. He enjoyed his family, especially his grandchildren.
