Arthur "Bud? J. Drtina Jr., 45, of 5401 Alburnett Rd., went to be with the Lord, Wednesday, September 17, 2003. Services: 10 a.m. Monday, September 22, 2003, at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Marion by Rev. John Gossman. Friends may call from 2-6 p.m. Sunday at Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Center in Marion where a Parish Vigil Service will begin at 5 p.m. Graveside Service: 3:30 p.m. Monday at Our Lady of Lourdes Cemetery in Lourdes, Iowa.
Survivors include his wife, Teresa of Marion; his son, Jesse and daughter, Emily, both at home; his father, Arthur of Marion; three sisters, Belinda Drtina of Colville, Washington, Debra Hills and husband Patric of Cedar Rapids and Janel Johnson of Delhi; a brother, Donald Drtina and wife Deanna of Central City; his in-laws, Anthony and Virginia McBride of Waterloo, Teresa?s brothers and sisters and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Theola.
Bud was born March 13, 1958, the son of Arthur and Theola (Drake) Drtina Sr. in Cedar Rapids. He graduated from Linn-Mar High School in 1976. On June 16th 1979, he married Teresa McBride in Lourdes, Iowa. Bud was an office manager at New Horizon Farm Service in Alburnett. He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Marion and the Sons of the American Legion. Bud loved his involvement with the agricultural field. He especially enjoyed country music, fishing and his cabin along the river. He was an accomplished singer and guitar player. Bud was also a great fan of the Green Bay Packers and Dale Earnhardt.
Instead of flowers, a memorial fund has been established for Jesse and Emily?s college fund.
