Arnold "Arnie" D. Harger

Arnold D. “Arnie” Harger, 75, of Toddville, passed away at his home Monday, February 15, 2016 following a long illness. The family will greet friends 4 – 7 p.m. Friday, February 19, 2016 at Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Marion. Celebration of Life: 10:30 a.m. Saturday, February 20, 2016 at the funeral home.
Survivors include his wife of 56 years, Ruth Ann Harger; his children, Krista (Tom) Stern of Walker, Rick (Kris) Harger of Toddville; grandchildren, Matt Stern, Mitch Harger and Maddie Harger; sisters, Carol Peterson of Wisconsin, Bonnie Mathis of Iowa City, and Mary Ellen Simpson of Louisiana.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Don and Mildred Harger; 3 brothers; and 1 sister.
Arnie was born August 22, 1940 to Don and Mildred (Robinson) Harger in San Antonio, Texas. He attended Alburnett High School. Arnie married Ruth Ann on December 17, 1959 in Cedar Rapids. He co-owned and operated H & H Construction (along with his brother Rich) for over 35 years. Arnie was a member of Ducks Unlimited Blue Creek Chapter. He enjoyed gardening, hunting, fishing, and spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren.
