Armand S. J. Klees, 62, of 103 Hames Street SW, Cedar Rapids, died Monday, January 9, 2006, in his home, following a long illness. Funeral Mass: 11:00 a.m. Thursday, January 12, 2006, at St. Ludmila Catholic Church, Cedar Rapids, by the Rev. Thomas McDermott. The family will greet friends from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, January 11, 2006, at Murdoch-Linwood Funeral Home, Cedar Rapids, where a Vigil service will begin at 6:00 p.m. Private Family Burial: Mt. Calvary Cemetery, Cedar Rapids.

Survivors include his wife, Michael Sue; his children, Scott, Michael, Daniel (Tracy) Klees and Sheri (Brad) Moores, all of Cedar Rapids; eight grandchildren, Ethan and Brady Klees, Kylee, Madison and Tanin Moores, Liberty, Danielle and Delaney Klees; two brothers, Dale (Dottie) Klees and Greg (Cristy) Klees, all of Cedar Rapids; two sisters, Pam Schuldt of Marion and Debbie Klees of Cedar Rapids; and 11 nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Armand was born March 30, 1943, the son of Armand and Marquerite Deeny Klees, in Waukon, Iowa. A Jefferson High School graduate, he served with the United States Marines during the Vietnam War from 1961 to 1967. On August 27, 1966, he was united in marriage to Michael Sue Paul in Cedar Rapids. For 20 years, Armand worked as a welder at FMC. He enjoyed woodworking and playing softball. Armand was a member of Moose Lodge No. 304.

Military honors will be conducted by American Legion Hanford Post #5.
