Arline E. Klahn, 89, of 2400 9th Avenue S.W., Cedar Rapids, Iowa, died Sunday, August 22, 2010, in Heritage Nursing & Rehab Center, Cedar Rapids. Services: 10:30 a.m., Thursday, August 26, 2010, at Murdoch-Linwood Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Cedar Rapids, by Chaplain Brian Reeves. Friends may call from 4 to 7 p.m., Wednesday, August 25, 2010, at the funeral home. Burial: Linwood Cemetery, Cedar Rapids.
Survivors include her husband, Marvin; sons, Marvin (Mary) Klahn Jr. of Solon and William “Bill” Klahn, Cedar Rapids; four grandchildren, William, Matthew, Sam and Elizabeth “Lizzy”; one great granddaughter, Hanna; and her brother, Lawrence “Larry” (Fae) Edwards of Cedar Rapids.
Arline was preceded in death by her parents; her brothers, Donald, David, Earl, Richard and Paul; and her sister, Mavis Spangler.
Born August 17, 1921, in Zwingle, Iowa, Arline was the daughter of Thomas and Alice (Clark) Edwards. On October 11, 1946, she was united in marriage to Marvin Klahn in Cedar Rapids.
