Arlie Mitchell Weaver, 56, of Alburnett, died Thursday, December 25, 2008, at St. Luke’s Hospital, following a short illness. Services: 11:00 a.m. Saturday, January 3, 2009, at Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Center in Marion. Visitation will be from 4-7 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. Burial: Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery, Cedar Rapids.

Arlie was born February 29, 1952, the son of Arlie Marion Weaver and Marcella (Miller) Weaver Dauber in Cedar Rapids. Arlie graduated from Prairie High School, Cedar Rapids in 1970, where he was senior class president. Arlie was first married to Pat Heath. From this union, two children (Curtis and Rachel) were born. They were later divorced. He then married Jalaa Atz Conway on February 19, 1994, in Alburnett, and became a step-father to two children (Josh and Holly). Arlie had worked at Square D, Diamond V Mills, Swiss Valley Dairy, was an area realtor, and did construction work. He most recently worked at U.S. Cellular.

Survivors include his wife, Jalaa of Alburnett; his children, Curtis Weaver and Rachel Weaver of Janesville, Wisconsin, Josh (Dawn) Conway of Cedar Rapids, and Holly (Agustin) Reyes of Davenport; and four grandchildren, Kyia, Charles, Lucas, and Emily.

Also surviving are brothers and sisters, Maudie (Dick) Petersen of Royalton, Illinois, Eunice Matthews of Cedar Rapids, Linda Ballard of Phoenix, Arizona, Donna (Carl) Young of Cedar Rapids, and Tim (Dee) Weaver of Cedar Rapids; two brothers-in-law, Russell Beebe and Jack Beebe of Dallas, Texas; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his son, John Weaver; two sisters, Beatrice Beebe and Sarah Beebe; and his stepfather, Ken Dauber.

Arlie enjoyed hunting, fishing, mushroom hunting, and playing cards. He also enjoyed sports of all kinds and played baseball and softball for many years. He was dearly loved and will be greatly missed.
