Arlene Wilson, 89, of 2500 Wisconsin Avenue S.W., Cedar Rapids, died in Mercy Medical Center in Cedar Rapids, Monday, September 4, 2006, following a long illness. Services: 10:00 a.m. Thursday, September 7, 2006, at Murdoch-Linwood Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Cedar Rapids. The family will greet friends from 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, September 6, 2006, at the funeral home. Burial: Linwood Cemetery, Cedar Rapids.
Survivors include her husband, Darrel; a sister, Mildred Allen of Germany; and a niece, Polly (Philipp) Medellin of Germany.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and her first husband, Elmer.
Arlene was born June 28, 1917, in Norway, Iowa, the daughter of Clarence and Amanda Williams. She graduated from high school and was a homemaker. Arlene married Darrel Wilson who survives. Arlene was a member of the Geneology Society which was a great joy to her.
The family is very grateful to the Hospice of Mercy and would like to have memorials in Arlene?s memory directed to the Hospice of Mercy, 2740 1st Avenue N.E., Cedar Rapids, Iowa 52402.
