Arlene Agatha Spellerberg

Arlene A. Spellerberg, 89, formerly of Delhi, Iowa, passed away Friday, August 17, 2018. Visitation: 4:00 – 7:00 p.m. Monday, August 20, 2018, at St. John Catholic Church, Delhi, with a 7:00 p.m. Scripture Service. Additional visitation will be held one hour prior to Mass at the church on Tuesday. Funeral Mass: 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, August 21, 2018, at St. John Catholic Church, Delhi, conducted by Rev. John Kremer. Graveside service: 1:30 p.m., St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery, Earlville.
Arlene was born September 2, 1928, in Dyersville, Iowa, the daughter of George and Agatha (Krapfl) Bockenstedt. On April 17, 1958, Arlene married Clarence Spellerberg at St. Francis Xavier Basilica in Dyersville. She was a member of St. John Catholic Church, Delhi. Arlene enjoyed gardening and tending to her flowers and loved spending time with her family.
Survivors include her children, Gary (Vicki) Spellerberg, Lisa (Steve) Dircks, Lynn (Bob) Gilson, and Eric Spellerberg, twelve grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren.
Arlene was preceded in death by her husband, Clarence Spellerberg; son, Brian Spellerberg; great-granddaughter, Drue Spellerberg; parents, George and Agatha Bockenstedt; siblings, Louise Mary Bockenstedt, Edward Francis Bockenstedt, and Arvin Henry Bockenstedt; and nephew, Steven Clemens.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to St. John Catholic Church.
