Arlene E. Fisher, 89, a resident of Heritage Nursing & Rehab Center, died Saturday, February 11, 2006, at the care center, following a short illness. Private Services will be held at a later date. Inurnment: Kozsta Cemetery, Marengo. Arrangements with Murdoch-Linwood Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Cedar Rapids.

Survivors include her children, Joan Fye Levine, of Cedar Rapids, Jim (Sue) Fisher of Coralville, Joyce Baker, Janice (Ernie) Osborne, and Judd Fisher, all of Cedar Rapids; 18 grandchildren; 42 great-grandchildren; 13 great-great-grandchildren; an uncle, Don Hite of Palo; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, James; sons-in-law, Darrel Fye and Joe Baker, Sr; and a great-granddaughter, Vikki Baker.

Arlene was born March 25, 1916, the daughter of Arleigh and Myrtle (Hite) Shepardson, in Marengo, Iowa. On September 12, 1935, she was united in marriage to James R. Fisher in Iowa City, Iowa. He died May 18, 1987. Arlene enjoyed cooking, fishing, playing cards, doing needlework and especially loved spending time with her family and friends.
