Ardis Vijean Filer (Kracht)

Ardis V. Filer, 80, passed away on Wednesday, May 22, 2013, at her residence in Ottumwa, Iowa. She is now in the arms of her precious Saviour. Services will be held on Thursday, May 30, 2013, at 11:00 a.m. at Oakland Church of the Nazarene, officiated by Pastor Dave King. A Luncheon will follow at the church. There will be a visitation an hour prior to the service. Graveside service: 3:00 p.m. at Maple Hill Cemetery, Birmingham, Iowa.
Ardis Filer was born on September 12, 1932. She was the oldest daughter of Harry C. and Gertrude Kracht. Ardis also has a sister, Beverly Phillips of Boone, Iowa and a brother, David C. Kracht, deceased. She attended country school and later graduated from high school in 1950 from Birmingham, Iowa.
She married Bob G. Filer on April 28, 1951, and has three son and two daughters: Steven (Jan) Filer of Minnesota, Philip (Angela) Filer of Atlanta, Georgia, and Alan Filer of Marion, Iowa; daughters, Chris (Dan) Nekvinda of Cedar Rapids and Cindy (Paul) Barnes of Ottumwa, Iowa.
She loved all the special years (62+) with her husband Bob and with her thirteen grandchildren and seventeen great-grandchildren of who she also loved beyond compare.
What a precious wife, mother and grandmother who loved us all with all her heart and soul.
Ardis loved people and saw only the best in everyone she met. She wanted everyone to find her precious Saviour Jesus Christ and be saved.
Memorial donations in lieu of flowers may be donated to Oakland Church of the Nazarene in Ardis’ name.
