Arden Charles Kasner, 69, of Marion, died, Monday, June 23, 2014. The family will greet friends from 4:00 – 6:00 p.m. on Sunday, June 29, 2014 at Murdoch Funeral Home and Cremation Center, Marion.
Survivors include his sons, Shane (Nina) Kasner of Marion, and Travis (Kristen) Kasner of Fairfax; grandchildren, Erik and Luke Kasner, and Kelsey, Adrienne, and Jeremiah Kasner; and brother, Melvin Kasner, Jr.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Ingrid, on June 11, 2002; parents, Melvin and Zelma; and a sister, Anna Bohm.
Arden was born January 29, 1945, the son of Melvin and Zelma Kasner. He married Ingrid Marie Wasek on February 15, 1966. He was a Veteran of the United States Army, serving during the Vietnam War. He worked as a project manager with Mercy Medical Center, and as Director of Maintenance with Linn-Mar Schools. He was a member of Calvary Baptist Church, and the National Rifle Association. Arden enjoyed fishing, shooting, loved to teach, solve problems and fix things. He was an inventor, designer, and had a wealth of knowledge. He was at his best supervising. Friends, family and neighbors knew he could and would, fix anything and everything. Everybody knew where to turn for help and he would always oblige.
