Archie Rudd

Archie Rudd, 91, of 350 River St. South, died Wednesday, May 7, 2008, at Crestview Acres in Marion, following a short illness. Services: 10:30 a.m. Saturday, May 10, 2008, at Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Service in Central City by R.G. Prucha. Visitation will be from 4-7 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. Burial: Rose Hill Cemetery, Mechanicsville.
Survivors include his wife, Louise of Central City; three children, Judy (Al) Heims of Marion, Sally (John) Loughren of Central City, and Sam (Elizabeth) Rudd of Lake View; a brother, Norman Rudd of Ripley, Ohio; a sister, Ruby Gee of Maysville, Kentucky; ten grandchildren; and twenty-five great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers; six sisters; a son, Gary Rudd; and an infant son Joe Rudd.
Archie was born October 28, 1916, the son of James and Ellie (Evans) Rudd in Tollesboro, Kentucky. On August 19, 1939, he married Louise Johnson in Wapello. He worked in construction as a Heavy Equipment Operator, farm field tiling, and nine years at Katz Salvage.
A memorial fund has been established in Archie’s memory.
