April Lee Webber, 62, of 960 South 6th Street, Marion, died Wednesday, June 11, 2008, at Dennis and Donna Oldorf Hospice House of Mercy in Hiawatha after a courageous battle with cancer. Services: 1:30 p.m. Saturday, June 14, 2008, at Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Center in Marion by Pastor Allen Biere. Visitation will be from 4-7 p.m. Friday at the funeral home and one hour prior to the service on Saturday. Burial: Oak Shade Cemetery, Marion.
Survivors include her husband, Chuck of Marion; a son, David Wheat of Minneapolis, Minnesota; a daughter, Kimberly Wheat of Marion; her mother, Esther Ramstad of Bemidji, Minnesota; two step-daughters, Rebekah (Andy) Julich of Marion and Marcia (Brad) Ward of Shellsburg; and two step-granddaughters, Elianah and Grace.
Also surviving are four brothers, David (Norma) Ramstad of Buffalo, Minnesota, Kendal (Janet) Ramstad of Marion, Douglas Ramstad of Delano, Minnesota, and Gary (Ruth) Ramstad of Minneapolis; and a sister, Susan (Mike) Adkins of Bemidji.
She was preceded in death by her father, Marvin.
April was born April 19, 1946, the daughter of Marvin and Esther (Rupprecht) Ramstad in Bemidji, Minnesota. She grew up and attended school in the rural community of Nary, Minnesota. April graduated from Bemidji High School and the University of Bemidji. On April 7, 2007, she married Charles D. Webber in Cedar Rapids. April worked for many years as Activities Director at the Abbe Center and Linn Manor Care Center and most recently worked as a teacher’s aide for the Cedar Rapids Public School system.
April was a member of The Alliance Church in Cedar Rapids.
