Anthoula "Anthy? G. Karras, 86, of 1338 J Avenue NE, died Tuesday, November 14, 2006 at her home following a long illness.
Funeral services will be 1:30 p.m. Saturday, November 18, 2006 at the Greek Orthodox Church of St. John the Baptist by Fr. Cyprian Sas. Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday at the Murdoch-Linwood Funeral Home & Cremation Service in Cedar Rapids where there will be a Trisagion service at 7 p.m. Burial will be in Linwood Cemetery, Cedar Rapids.

Survivors include her husband, Steve Karras; two sons, Thomas Karras and George Karras, both of Cedar Rapids; a grandson, Stephan Karras, a student of the Academy of Arts University in San Francisco, CA; nephews, George Miller of Lombard, IL and James Miller of South Bend,IN; a sister-in-law, Mary Miller of South Bend, IN; god-daughters, Mary Paxton of Cedar Rapids and Katie Tsiggas of Worcester, MA; and god-son, Steve Canas of Cedar Rapids.

Anthoula was preceded in death by her parents; and two brothers, Eli Miller and George Miller.

Anthoula was born January 11, 1920 to George and Georgia (Pappas) Miller in Cedar Rapids. She graduated from McKinley High School. On December 7, 1947, Anthoula was united in marriage to Steve T. Karras. She was employed by Lapes Florist and Ginsberg?s Jewel Box during the 1940?s. Anthoula received her Food Service certificate from Iowa State University in the 1970?s whereupon she was employed as Food Service Supervisor at St. Luke?s Hospital until retirement.

Anthoula was an active member of St. John?s Greek Orthodox Church and a member of the Philoptohos Society. She was a loving wife and as fine a mother as anyone could ever hope for. The family deeply mourns her loss and forever cherishes her memory.
