Annie "Gram? Geyer, 96, 1221 11th St. NW, died Friday, March 14, 2003, in St. Luke?s Hospital, Cedar Rapids, following a brief illness. Services: 1:30 p.m. Tuesday, March 18, 2003, at Murdoch-Linwood Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Cedar Rapids, by Rev. Paul Fuessel, Jr. Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Monday, March 17, 2003, at the funeral home. Burial: Linwood Cemetery, Cedar Rapids.
Survivors include a daughter, Annie Griffin of Cedar Rapids; two sisters, Gertrude Anderson of Cedar Rapids and Kate Schaffer of Schuyler, Nebraska; six grandchildren, eleven great-grandchildren; eight great-great-grandchildren; and two great-great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, George; a daughter, Mary Grisham; two brothers, John and Herb; a sister, Faye; and a grandson, Herbert Griffin.
Annie was born October 12, 1906, the daughter of John and Gertrude (Cook) Baldwin, in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. She was united in marriage to George S. Geyer. He died in 1954. Annie worked as a phone operator for Northwestern Bell. She was a member of the Grace Episcopol Church and a 72-year member of Cedar Chapter OES. For many years, she made pies for Kozy Inn and Meth-Wick. She also had a great passion for crocheting. Annie was dearly loved and the memories she has left will be treasured by all of her family and friends.
