Annetta H. Geistkemper, 83, of Earlville, Iowa died Monday afternoon, February 2, 2004 at the Good Neighbor Home in Manchester after a long illness.

Funeral Mass will be at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, February 5 at St. Joseph?s Catholic Church in Earlville with the Reverends Herbert Tegeler and Michael Tauke co-concelebrating. Friends may call from 2:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday and after 9:00 a.m. Thursday at the Clifton-Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Service in Earlville. There will be a rosary at 4:00 p.m. and vigil service at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Burial will be in the St. Joseph Cemetery, Earlville.

Annetta was born on October 10, 1920, in Dyersville, the daughter of Aloysius L. and Anna M. (Klostermann) Tauke.

On September 8, 1941, Annetta was united in marriage to Herman J. Geistkemper at St. Francis Xavier Basilica in Dyersville. The couple farmed north of Earlville, and in 1980 they retired and moved into town. Annetta and Herman shared 62 years of marriage together.

She was a member of St. Joseph?s Catholic Church in Earlville where she was a member of the Guild. Annetta enjoyed quilting and spending time with her family. She especially loved her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Annetta is survived by her husband, Herman Geistkemper of Earlville; eight children and their spouses, John (Carla) Geistkemper of Earlville, Dave (Judy) Geistkemper of Dyersville, Carol (Don) Grawe of Hazel Green , WI, Marilyn (Lyle) Andersen of Springville, Betty (Steve) Gassmann of Indianola, Jean (Jim) Woolf of Phillips, WI, Joe (Barb) Geistkemper of Earlville and Tom Geistkemper of Blairstown; eighteen grandchildren; fourteen great-grandchildren; and a brother and sister, Herb Tauke and Ileen Hoeger, both of Dyersville.

She was preceded in death by four sisters, Marie Tauke, Luetta Burkle and Inez & Irma Tauke in infancy; three brothers, Arnold, Ambrose & Leonard Tauke; and two grandchildren, Christine & Timothy Geistkemper.
