Anne Kirsten Christensen, 49, of Marion, passed away on Wednesday, March 28, 2018, at University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics, Iowa City, following a 14 year courageous battle with breast cancer.
Anne will be remembered for her lively personality, her laughter, and her ability to enjoy life.
Anne was born June 29, 1968, in LaGrange, Illinois, the daughter of Gene and Hanne (Degnegaard) Beube. Anne lived her first 12 years in Europe: London, Athens, Copenhagen, Frankfurt and Brussels. She graduated from high school at Timothy Christian in Elmhurst, Illinois. She then received her Bachelor’s degree from Iowa State University.
Anne was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Michael J. Christensen.
She is survived by her children, Aaron Christensen, 18, and Sara Christensen, 14; her parents, Gene and Hanne Beube; her sister, Susan (Ken) Keller; and brother, Thomas (Fanny) Beube. Anne will be missed by her many cousins, nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and the extended Christensen family, as well as her numerous friends.
Per Anne’s wishes, cremation has taken place. A private family service will be held in Illinois and a Celebration of Life will be held locally at a later date. Arrangements by Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Marion.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to diabetes and breast cancer research in Anne’s memory.
