Anna Mae Nollsch Olinger, 92, of Springville, passed away Friday, September 15, 2017, at the Hiawatha Care Center. Family will greet friends 4 – 7 p.m. Wednesday, September 20, 2017, at Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Marion. Funeral Services: 10 a.m. Thursday, September 21, 2017, at the funeral home by Mike Olinger. Burial: Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery, Cedar Rapids.

Anna is survived by her sons, Ron (Nancy) Olinger, of Springville and John Olinger of Marion; grandchildren, Krysta (Gabe) Dawes of Anamosa, Kelsey Olinger of St. Louis, Missouri, Elaine (Mike) Collett of Des Moines, and Nick Olinger of Marion; great-grandchildren, Audrey and Trevor Dawes, and Montgomery Collett; and sister-in-law, Pauline Olinger of Alburnett.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Roy on May 1, 2014; son, Bruce; siblings, Emma Nodurft, Duane Nollsch, and Benjamin Nollsch; and brother-in-law, Glenn Olinger.

Anna was born June 8, 1925, in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, the daughter of Arthur Benjamin and Clara Marietta (Hodge) Nollsch. On September 15, 1946, she was united in marriage to Roy Lee Olinger in Marion. Anna and her husband, Roy, farmed in rural Springville for over 60 years. Anna was also a secretary for Springville Schools until 1969. From 1969 – 1990 she worked in admissions at Cornell College until retiring. Anna was a long-time member of Prairie Chapel Church in rural Marion, as well as the organist. She also was a member of the United Methodist Women and an Honorary Alumnus of Cornell College. Anna was an avid Cubs and Hawkeye fan. Music, family and faith were the pillars of her life. She will be remembered for her smile, love for cooking, and for her generous heart.

Memorials may be directed to Springville Volunteer Fire Department for their EMT program.
