Anna (Mikolaitis) Egner, 94, of Marion, died Monday, May 13, 2013, at Mercy Medical Center, Cedar Rapids. Funeral Mass: 10:30 a.m. Friday, May 17, 2013, at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Marion, by Father David O’Conner. A vigil service will take place at 4:00 p.m. Thursday, May 16, 2013, at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Marion, followed by a visitation until 7:00 p.m. Burial: Mt. Calvary Cemetery, Cedar Rapids.
Survivors include her three children, Dr. James (Nancy) Egner, Gerald (Mary Pat) Egner, and Carol (Eben) Cobb; and four grandchildren, Lisa, Eric, Mike, and Tom.
She was preceded in death by her husband.
Anna was born June 18, 1918, in Chicago, IL, the daughter of Kazimir and Rose Mikolaitis. She married Walter Egner on May 4, 1947, in Chicago. Anna was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, Marion, where she was also a member of the Widows Club. She loved quilting and gardening.
