Anna Rose Hartgrave, 82, of Fairfax, died Monday, August 24, 2009, at home. Services: 11:00 a.m. Thursday, August 27, 2009, at Murdoch-Linwood Funeral Home & Cremation Service in Cedar Rapids by Chaplain Joe Kane. Visitation will be from 4-7 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Burial: Fairfax Cemetery.
Survivors include her husband, Robert of Fairfax; her children, Connie Boyle and husband Thomas of Cedar Rapids, Larry Hartgrave of Cedar Rapids, Cathy Nove and husband Ron of Fairfax, and Barb Clark and husband Tim of Fairfax; her grandchildren, Shawn Nove and wife Kristi and their children Jackson and Ella, Corey Nove and wife Natalie and their daughter, Sienna, Brant Nove and wife Aleisha and their children Carson and Mason, Jeffrey Hartgrave, Matthew Boyle and wife Jackie, Carrie Boyle, Ali Clark and Courtney Clark.
Also surviving are three sisters, Irene Hartgrave of Cedar Rapids, Mary Brecht and husband Dwayne of Marengo, and Bonita Albert of East Amana; four sisters-in-law, Rachel Gerard of Marengo, Jo Gerard of Marengo, Francis Gerard of Estes Park, Colorado, and Beverly Gerard of Chelsea; and a brother-in-law, Don Coulon of Oregon.
She was preceded in death by her parents; five brothers, Russell, Glen, Gene, Bud, and Laurel; and a sister, Twila Coulon.
Anna was born April 5, 1927, the daughter of Laurel and Josephine (Kroul) Gerard in Iowa County. On August 2, 1944, she married Robert Hartgrave in Missouri. Anna retired from Square D, where she worked as a machinist for 22 years. Anna enjoyed family gatherings, especially her grandchildren, sewing, crafts, and flowers.
