Anna May Binley, 90, a resident of Western Home Communities, Cedar Falls, formerly of Springville, passed away on Sunday, May 6, 2018. The family will greet friends from 5 to 7 p.m. on Wednesday, May 9, 2018, at Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Marion. Funeral Services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, May 10, 2018, at the funeral home. Burial will take place at Springville Cemetery, Springville.
Anna was born September 17, 1927, in rural Norway, Iowa, one of eleven children to William and Anna (Heager) Kopf. She was united in marriage to Wilmer “Junior” Binley in Marengo, on August 17, 1950. Anna was a stay at home mom while raising her family. Following the death of her husband in 1980, she obtained her first driver’s license for her job at Kingston Hills, where she worked for many years. Anna loved her flower gardens, her beloved dog and companion, “Reggie”, shopping, listening to country music, spending time with her family, and excursions with her sisters. Anna will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.
She is survived by her children, Barbara (Charles) Bakker of Dike, Iowa, Debara (Paul) Bruggeman of Pflugerville, Texas, and Sandra (Scott) Crow of Manassas, Virginia; seven grandchildren, Gabriel (Hilary) Bakker, Brittany (Bret) Larsen, Tigh (Tara) Bakker, Sara (Devan) Hanson, Eric Bruggeman, Joshua Crow, and Matthew Crow; ten great-grandchildren; one sister, Alice (William) Barker, of Cedar Rapids; and many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.
Anna was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Junior; three brothers; and six sisters.
