Ann M. Gage, 90, of the Hiawatha Care Center, Hiawatha, Iowa, formerly of Center Point and Cedar Rapids, died there, Thursday, January 18, 2007, following a long illness. Services: 11:30 a.m., Monday, January 22, 2007, at Alice United Methodist Church, Center Point, Iowa. The family will greet friends from 2 to 6 p.m., Sunday, January 21, 2007, at the Murdoch Funeral Home, Center Point. Burial: Alice Cemetery, Center Point.
Survivors include her children, Joseph W. (Clara) Cook of Center Point, Eileen J. (Clarence) Serbousek of Robins, James A. (Betty) Cook of Hiawatha and Ann C. (Bob) Techau also of Hiawatha; sisters, Mary Serbousek of Center Point, Georgie (Homer) Shadwick of Missouri, Josey Cress of Center Point and Louise Bolton of Central City.
Also surviving are nine grandchildren; 16 great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph and Anna Rabik; two husbands, Walter H. Cook and Lynn L. Gage; twin great granddaughters, Melinda and Heather Niemeier; and granddaughter, Cindy Cook.
Ann was born June 27, 1916, in Center Point, Iowa, the daughter of Joseph P. and Anna (Smrha) Rabik. She was employed as a school cook and then as an aide at St. Luke?s Hospital.
Ann loved traveling, her dogs, dancing and cooking sauerkraut and dumplings, kolaches and cinnamon rolls. She especially loved having family get togethers.
