Ann Marie (Cole) Conner, 60, of Marion, Iowa, passed away peacefully on Friday, November 30, 2018, after a courageous battle against metastatic breast cancer with her family at her side. The family will greet friends from 5:00 – 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, December 4, 2018, at Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Marion, where a Parish Vigil Service will begin at 5:00 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, December 5, 2018, at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Marion, concelebrated by Reverend Douglas Loecke and Reverend David O’Connor. The family will also greet friends one hour prior to Mass at the church on Wednesday. Burial will follow at Oak Shade Cemetery in Marion.

Ann was born April 25, 1958, in Manchester, Iowa, the daughter of Don and Mary (Loecke) Cole. She graduated from Linn-Mar High School in 1976 and from Mt. Mercy College in 1980. She married Jeff Conner at St. Joseph Catholic Church on September 12, 1981. In 1989, Ann and Jeff welcomed their son, Matthew, into their family. She was a financial analyst at Rockwell Collins for 36 years and was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Marion.

Her love for family will be dearly missed by her husband, Jeff Conner and son, Matthew Conner. She will forever be in the hearts of her parents, Don and Mary Cole; father-in-law, Paul “Tink” Conner; family members, Jolene Cole, Stephanie (Tim) Frazee and their children, Hannah, Carson and Cole, Steve Conner and his children, Audrey (Josh) Blount, Ian and Sean Conner, Tracy (Cheryl) Conner, and Loralee (Ben) Walker and their children, Dylan and Logan. Ann’s endearing spirit will be missed by many aunts, uncles, cousins, friends, and co-workers.

Ann was preceded in death by her mother-in-law, Velda Conner, paternal grandparents, Donald and Lucille Cole; maternal grandparents, Bernard and Lucina Loecke; aunt, Arlene Loecke; and uncle, Donnie Fandel.

The family would like to express their heartfelt gratitude to Dr. Ghosh and all of his staff, and all the nurses and staff with Mercy Hospice at both In-home care hospice and at the Dennis and Donna Oldorf Hospice House of Mercy in Hiawatha, for all the care and support they gave to Ann during her illness.
