Survivors include two sons, Jerry Churchill and wife Mary of Kalamazoo, Michigan and Robert Churchill of Council Bluffs; nine grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Hugh; four sisters; and three brothers.

Ann was born April 10, 1904, the daughter of George and Mary (Laskuski) Steinmetz in Tomah, Wisconsin. She married Hugh Churchill in 1934. He died February 6, 1989. Ann was an outstanding person in her family life and in her public life. A loyal wife, devoted mother, loving grandmother, she supported her husband Hugh in happy times and in difficult times. She never missed an opportunity to guide and to give to her two sons, Jerry and Bob. Her grandchildren always loved to visit Grandmother because she invariably had games and treats that made her special to them.

Ann, a devout Catholic, taught music in St. Joseph?s School for many years. She taught piano privately, and her students, some of whom received awards, all of whom learned, were like friends to her.

Ann had a love of bingo and cards, and she played vigorously, particularly bingo?we were awed at her intensity and like to remember her as "The Bingo Shark?. She would always play several cards, and no one would dare distract her except at their peril, and so it was an evening?s entertainment to watch her in action.

Mother, we will never forget your character and bravery, so farewell and God speed?you will always be alive in our hearts.

A memorial fund has been established in memory of Ann.
