Anita Mae Fischer, 84, formerly of Earlville, died, Tuesday, August 6, 2013 in Freeport, IL.
Funeral Mass will be held at 10:30 a.m., Friday, August 9, 2013 at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Earlville, Iowa by Rev. Dennis Quint. Visitation will be from 9:00 a.m. – 10:30 a.m., Friday, August 9 prior to funeral services at the Clifton-Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Services in Earlville. Burial will be in St. Joseph’s Catholic Cemetery, Earlville.
Anita was born November 5, 1928 in Earlville, the daughter of Joseph Frank and Esther Caroline (Sternhagen) Kaiser. On November 19, 1946, Anita was united in marriage to Arnold “Arnie” Fischer at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Earlville. Anita worked at St. Joseph and Maquoketa Valley Schools for many years, and also babysat many children over the years, while caring for her home and family. She enjoyed baking cookies, her family, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Anita also enjoyed flowers, listening to country music, listening to Freeport Aquin Bulldog Football games on the radio, and being active at St. Joseph's helping with funeral dinners, and fish fries prior to moving closer to family in Freeport.
Anita is survived by two children, Judy (Tom) Kramer of Freeport, IL, and Barb (DuWayne) Grutt of Marquette, MI; four grandchildren, Lisa (Jay) Shaw, Todd (Amy) Kramer, Michael (Krista) Grutt, and Kimberly (Neil Bonetti) Grutt; six great-grandchildren, Jesse (Emily), Haley, Kolton, Kelsey, Aubrey, and Ryan; four siblings, Marie Neuhaus, John (Lois) Kaiser, Patty Harrington, Bonnie Jean Anderson; in-laws, Mary Lou Kaiser, Adorine Kaiser, and Francis (Sharon) Fischer and numerous nieces and nephews.
Anita was preceded in death by her husband, Arnold “Arnie” Fischer in August 2012; and her parents; three brothers, Kenneth, Al, and Robert; a sister, Ruth; and an infant brother, Charles.
