Amy Elizabeth Nopoulos, 20, of Granada Hills, California, formerly of Marion, died suddenly Sunday, June 1, 2003. Services: 10 a.m. Saturday, June 7, 2003, at Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Center in Marion by Charles Green. Friends may call from 5-7 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. Burial: Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery, Cedar Rapids.
Survivors include her parents, Dr. Peter and Kathy Nopoulos of Marion; her brother, Jesse Disterhoft of Cedar Rapids; her paternal grandparents, George and Thelma Nopoulos of Wilton, Iowa; her great aunt, Edith Iberg of Marengo; and several aunts, uncles and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her sister Megan in 2001; her maternal grandparents, Albert and Maxine DeGood; paternal great-grandparents, Gus and Mildred Nopoulos; and maternal great-grandparents, Nora Wanamaker and Lester DeGood.
Amy was born July 14, 1982 in Cedar Rapids to Peter and Kathleen (DeGood) Nopoulos. She graduated from Linn-Mar High School in 2000. Amy was formerly a student at the LA Art Institute and was currently employed in Los Angeles as a personal production assistant to Greg Conaster. She was a talented artist and had a knack for making people laugh. Amy had a deep faith and hope in the Resurrection.
