Amy Marie Boeckenstedt, 53, of Garnavillo, Iowa, gained her heavenly wings on Sunday, February 16, 2020. Amy was the best blessing our family could have asked for, born on November 17, 1966, to Allie and Marie (Friedman) Boeckenstedt. Amy grew up in Greeley and received her diploma from West Delaware School District.
Though Amy’s life was different than ours, she brought sunshine with her smile, her laugh was infectious, and her hugs the best. What a privilege it was to call her our sister. Amy was our special angel on earth and now she is our special angel in heaven. Mom and Dad welcomed her home with open arms.
Those of us left here on earth to cherish her memory are Deb (Mike) Hunt of Greeley, Russell (Sharon) Boeckenstedt, Pam (Ron) Klein, and Mitch (Mary) Boeckenstedt, all of Manchester. Amy also leaves many nieces and nephews, great-nieces and nephews, and many aunts and uncles. Also, all the staff members from her home in Garnavillo and Sue Robinson who took such loving care of Amy.
Amy was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Brad Boeckenstedt; grandparents, Leo and Leona Friedman and Elmer and Josephine Boeckenstedt.
A Memorial Mass will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, March 14, 2020, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Manchester with Father Gabriel Anderson as Celebrant. Arrangements by Bohnenkamp-Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Manchester.
