Alyce Mueller, 90, of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, passed away on Sunday, April 16, 2017, at St. Luke’s Hospital, Cedar Rapids. Visitation: 4:00-7:00 p.m. Wednesday, April 19, 2017, at Murdoch-Linwood Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Cedar Rapids. Service: 10:30 a.m. Thursday, April 20, 2017, at St. Stephen Lutheran Church, Cedar Rapids, conducted by Pastor Ritva Williams. Burial: Linwood Cemetery, Cedar Rapids.
Alyce was born on February 9, 1927, in Kindred, North Dakota, daughter of Peter and Alvida (Monson) Lykken. She graduated from Kindred High School and attended one year of Business College in Moorehead, Minnesota. On October 19, 1952, Erwin and Alyce were united in marriage in Kindred, North Dakota. She worked at Kmart for 22 years in the ladies apparel department in Cedar Rapids. Alyce enjoyed baking pies and playing cards such as Cribbage and Wizard. She was a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.
Survivors include her children, Sue (Kevin) Booth from Palo, Iowa, Duane (Teresa) Mueller of Cedar Rapids and Ann Fowler of Perkasie, Pennsylvania; nine grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; brother, Eugene (Arlene) Lykken of West Fargo, North Dakota; and son-in-law, Cliff Broxey of Palo.
She was preceded in death by her husband, parents; and daughter, Gayle Broxey.
